Current Status

The Hearth Project is currently in the planning and development phase.

The Hearth Charter is active and represents the intended long-term mission and values of the initiative.

Certain legal structures described on this page, including the Ember Fund nonprofit and potential B Corporation certification, are still under evaluation and have not yet been finalized.

Updates will be published as decisions are made.

The Hearth Charter

Preamble

The Hearth Project was founded upon a simple belief:

That every human being possesses inherent value, and that creativity, craftsmanship, knowledge, and service are among the most powerful forces for healing, dignity, and meaningful progress.

We recognize that talent alone is not enough. Many capable people face hardship, isolation, poverty, illness, trauma, disability, discrimination, or circumstances beyond their control. Too often, society measures individuals only by their productivity while neglecting their humanity.

The Hearth Project exists to help change that.

We seek to build systems that empower people not merely to survive, but to grow, create, contribute, and flourish. We believe that opportunity should be expanded, barriers should be reduced, and communities should be strengthened through compassion, responsibility, and mutual support.

The Hearth Project serves as a sanctuary, a hearth, for those seeking a brighter path forward.

Article I: Mission

The mission of The Hearth Project is to improve human well-being by fostering opportunity, supporting personal growth, strengthening communities, and helping individuals overcome barriers that prevent them from realizing their potential.

We pursue this mission through charitable assistance, educational initiatives, mental health advocacy, creator empowerment, community development, and other programs aligned with these principles.

Article II: Core Beliefs

1. Human Worth Comes First

A person's value is not determined by income, status, productivity, popularity, or circumstance.

Every individual deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to pursue a meaningful life.

2. Creativity Is a Human Necessity

The desire to build, create, learn, teach, and express oneself is fundamental to the human experience.

Creative work is not merely commerce. It is identity, purpose, connection, and healing.

3. Opportunity Should Be Expanded

Many barriers to success are not failures of character but failures of access.

Whenever possible, we seek to remove obstacles and create pathways for people to succeed through their own effort and determination.

4. Communities Are Stronger Together

No one thrives entirely alone.

Healthy communities are built through cooperation, mentorship, generosity, and shared responsibility.

5. Compassion and Accountability Must Coexist

Empathy without responsibility creates dependence.

Responsibility without empathy creates cruelty.

We strive to balance both, empowering people while respecting their agency and independence.

Article III: Areas of Impact

The Hearth Project may pursue initiatives including, but not limited to:

  • Financial assistance and emergency aid.

  • Mental health and wellness programs.

  • Educational opportunities and skills development.

  • Creator and artisan support.

  • Workforce development.

  • Community-building initiatives.

  • Resource access and mentorship.

  • Programs that improve quality of life for individuals facing hardship.

These initiatives may evolve over time as new needs emerge and new opportunities arise.

Article IV: Stewardship

The resources entrusted to The Hearth Project shall be managed with integrity, transparency, and care.

Every decision should be guided by the question:

"Does this improve lives and advance the mission?"

Financial growth is not an end unto itself. It is a means by which greater impact becomes possible.

Article V: Independence of Purpose

The Hearth Project shall remain committed to its charitable mission above all other interests.

Partnerships, sponsorships, donations, and collaborations shall be evaluated according to whether they strengthen or undermine the mission and values contained within this Charter.

No opportunity shall be pursued at the expense of the people we exist to serve.

Article VI: The Ember Fund

The Ember Fund serves as the primary charitable vehicle of The Hearth Project.

Its purpose is to provide meaningful assistance to individuals experiencing hardship, barriers to opportunity, or circumstances that threaten their well-being and future potential.

The Ember Fund embodies the belief that a single act of support, offered at the right moment, can change the trajectory of a life.

Article VII: Legacy

The Hearth Project is not intended to exist for a single generation, a single leader, or a single organization.

Its purpose is to endure.

Future leaders are entrusted not merely with programs and assets, but with a responsibility to preserve the spirit of this Charter:

To see the human being behind the struggle.

To create opportunity where little exists.

To strengthen communities rather than divide them.

To leave the world better than it was found.

May this work serve as a bright line in the dark, and an invitation to step across it.

Organizational Structure Notice

The Hearth Project's mission is permanent. Its legal structure is still being finalized.

As Emberwright Enterprises grows, we are actively evaluating the most effective legal framework to support both long-term commercial sustainability and meaningful charitable impact.

Current legal guidance indicates that maintaining a nonprofit as a subsidiary of a for-profit company may create unnecessary complications and restrictions. As a result, we are exploring alternative structures that better protect the mission while remaining compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

This evaluation includes the possibility of:

  • Emberwright Enterprises operating as a mission-driven for-profit company, potentially pursuing B Corporation certification.

  • The Hearth Project serving as the overarching charitable mission and public initiative.

  • The Ember Fund operating as an independent nonprofit organization that maintains a close partnership with Emberwright and The Hearth Project.

No final determination has been made.

What will not change is our commitment to supporting creators, strengthening communities, expanding opportunity, and improving human well-being.

Our objective is to establish a structure that maximizes impact, maintains public trust, allows for tax-deductible charitable giving where appropriate, and ensures the long-term sustainability of the mission.

As legal and financial planning progresses, updates will be provided publicly.

The mission is settled; the structure is still being refined.

The Future of the Ember Fund

The Ember Fund is envisioned as a mission-driven initiative operating through multiple complementary channels.

An independent nonprofit organization may be established to support charitable programs, grantmaking, emergency assistance, mental health initiatives, and other qualifying activities eligible for tax-deductible contributions.

Separately, Emberwright Enterprises may maintain an internal charitable and community investment program operating under the Ember Fund banner. This program would support creator empowerment initiatives, subsidized commerce, community development efforts, and other mission-aligned activities within the Emberwright ecosystem.

While these programs may operate through distinct legal structures, they exist in service of a shared purpose:

To remove barriers, create opportunity, and improve the lives of the people we serve.

A Note from the Founder

The Hearth Project was born from a belief that too many capable people are forced to carry burdens they were never meant to carry alone, while those struggles stifle the living potential within them.

This Charter represents the principles I hope will guide this mission long after any one individual, organization, or project has changed.

The work ahead will evolve. The structure may evolve. The programs may evolve.

These values should not.
